Before I wrote this review, I happened to take a look at reviews. In one of the reviews, a user gave the headline "my money goes to ashes". I love that review title. When I saw it, I laughed out loud because it's so funny. That user actually knew how to express all in short sentence, to be exact, five words. Again, it's very funny and at the same time, it's so true. This film has also indeed turned my time and money into ashes.

Furthermore, most of the users said this film is so slow and dull. I agreed on that. The film is so slow. I feel like watching a tortoise goes on the long table step by step. To be honest, I really gave this film a try. I started watching this one last night. Because of the fact that this film is going really and terribly slow, I felt sleepy. Normally, I could watch a 1 hour and 30 minutes film before going to bed. But when it comes to this film, I really can't resist the sleepy feeling. I tried to watch it even when I was nearly falling asleep. After 16 minutes, I couldn't keep watching. So, I stopped watching and listened "Mo Dao Zu Shi" audio drama instead which I've listened a million times. Strange thing is that I didn't feel sleep when I've listened it even though I've listened several times already. Hence, you all could guess how much this film is boring.

Today afternoon, I gave this film another chance again. I continued to watch. I've been patient with this film because I really wanted to give it a chance because it gets high rates right here on IMDB and so, I thought it might be a great film. From beginning to exactly 19 minutes, there wasn't anything special happened. For 19 minutes of running time, they were just building foundation level. The film is 1 hour 37 minutes and 21 seconds long, when it reaches 19 minutes and still, it doesn't finish the foundation level building, then what kind of things will be in the remaining time? With this rate, maybe there wasn't that much special things in the remaining minutes. Maybe there will just be two things and the film will be ended. If you think carefully, it's really annoying. Thus, I couldn't bare it anymore. That's when I stopped watching this film.

I really don't know how the hell this film gets 6.5 rating on IMDB. As for me, it's a total dumb film. It's so dull and slow. As the one who loves to see films that has faster speed, I couldn't watch this one. I admit that I didn't watch it to the end, so, I have no idea what happened next or how it ends. This film might be a good film or even the best, but it's speed is very slow, so, this film becomes one of the worst films I've seen in this year. Not to mention 6.5 rating, it doesn't even deserve a star from me, but I gave one star anyway to appreciate the budget they have used to create this dumb film. So, conclusion is that if you like the film that has normal speed or faster speed, then avoid this film. DO NOT watch. If you choose to watch, I'm quite sure that you will regret.

Frank Grillo is a fantastic actor. What is wrong with Hollywood? We should be seeing him in everything. A man can only see so much darkness before he goes blind, in the end he didn't have to see the monster he became. the father he lost his daughter it just like you lost your pen i don't know there is no sad feelings. poor acting & slow & boring waste of time

Great characters, good plot, but the pacing of the movie was bad!
