Poor old Rebel - she isn't a great lead actress and is funny as a sidekick with a few funny lines. Here she just struggled in lead, cringed a lot. The storyline was just blah, our 15 year old left after 30 mins and she refused to watch anymore. We suffered on and finished. Whoa it is really bad. Can I ever get those years back!

Synopsis
In 2002 and tells the story of Stephanie, the most popular girl in her high school. She's the captain of the cheerleading squad, dating the quarterback and is well on her way to becoming the prom queen. Girls want to be her and guys want to be with her. She has it all until she falls off the top of the cheerleading pyramid and goes into a coma. Fast forward 20 years later and Ruby finally wakes up from her coma as a 37-year-old woman. She goes back to her high school and tries to assume her role as the star of her school. Most of all, she is still set on winning the crown as prom queen.

Some Truly Fun Moments
Though we have seen this type of movie many times already, I was surprised to laugh out loud several times. Rebel Wilson is true to her style. The roller coaster emotional ride of high school is trecherous. The ending is all love and happiness. Give it a whirl!

Cute, funny, retro
Actually wasn't a cringe worthy as expected. A good nod to a age old era of rom coms which seems to have zero interest these days. Rebel is funny as always but the same same character is getting a little tired. She needs to follow Melissa McCarthy and so more serious roles to break the stereotype. Overall don't expect much and will gain alot. Some good soundtracks and cameos makes it worth a look.
