Decent directing by Guillermo Ivan (who also played Rafael), although the shaky-cam scenes were annoying. Good action (but very repetitive), and pacing that fit the 98 min runtime, but the writing was terrible and cliched. Four writers and you'd think at least one could write better than a 5th grader. The worst part was the infantile narrating that really failed this film, as did casting novice Michael Kingsbaker who's acting was amateurish and annoying. The rest of the cast was great, but not enough to get past the annoying Kingsbaker and his narrating. Any review above a 5 for this film (including out of the current 8) are all fake/paid. This film is no better than my 4/10. Avoid, even if you're bored.

Synopsis
Video game designer Matt Booth has one shot to save his career by unveiling his biggest project yet at the Video Game Awards in New Mexico. But after running into a friend at the airport and having a little too much to drink before his flight, he ends up in ACTUAL Mexico - specifically, Acapulco. As soon as he lands, he finds himself on the run from high-powered criminals, deadly hitmen and the Feds, all looking for a mysterious package that he has allegedly smuggled through customs yet knows nothing about. Partnering with a badass, beautiful femme fatale and channeling his inner video game action hero, the pair unravels a conspiracy that could shake the foundation of the United States, maybe even the world.

Lost potential with cheese-ball narrating and amateur acting by Kingsbaker
Wrath of Todd
M.I.T. Matt Booth (Michael Kingsbaker) designs video games in NYC. He is on his way to New Mexico to hawk his latest game "Wrath of Todd" an urban action game. He bumps into his real estate friend Tony Woods (Bradley Gregg) and the next thing you know he is flying to Acapulco. Upon arrival, everyone is after him because he has "the package." He teams up with Adriana (Ana Serradilla) who attempts to keep him safe.
The film is a grindhouse spoof. It utilizes Michael Madsen and William Baldwin but somehow didn't get Danny Trejo. Michael Kingsbaker was unconvincing in his role reading tepid scripted lines. They spent time and effort to get the scenes right, but somehow the script didn't run on all cylinders.
Guide: F-word. No sex or nudity.
it was fun!
So there's a guy who ends up in the wrong place, at the wrong time. Sort of a fish out of water plot, one you've seen a few times before. Lots of things go wrong since the protagonist lands in Acapulco, Mexico, and finds himself chased by all the bad dudes all the way from Mexico to Washington. There's endless action, lots of laughs and some gorgeous spots to look at. And the female lead is a true badass.
Had lots of fun watching this one. J.P.
